The 1989 Upper Deck Baseball set is widely considered the set that changed the landscape of how baseball cards had been produced to that point. The set was considered very high end featuring hologramed cards with a high gloss finish.
It contained several key rookie cards such as Randy Johnson, Gary Sheffield, and the legendary Ken Griffey Jr.
The set also had what at the time were deemed highly desireable variation cards such as reverse negatives.
This particular card goes beyond rare as it is one of only 2 that are known to exist for this black bordered PROOF of Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley! To date there have been only 3 total proof cards even cataloged for the ENTIRE SET!
