264 card set (NM-MT condition)
The 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee set contained 264 standard size color cards. Players from expansion Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks are included. Bilingual backs contain the player's 1969-70 and career statistics and a short biography. The cards were printed in Canada
and the O-Pee-Chee copyright, not the Topps Gum copyright, appear on the reverse for the first time. Many players poses in this set were different from the corresponding Topps cards. Cards are grouped by team, however there are a number of cards that had updated team names reflecting off-season trades. Card #231 is a special memorial to Terry Sawchuk who passed away in 1970. Card #111, Brit Selby, and #175, Mickey Redmond, can be found with or without a line acknowledging trades. Rookies include Gilbert Perreault, Wayne Cashman, Darryl Sittler, Guy Lapointe, Brad Park, and Bobby Clarke.
