Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the 1,486 examples graded by PSA, this is one of just fourteen examples graded at this level with only two graded higher. This is a stunning high-grade example of one of the three classic poses of Christy Mathewson from the T206 White Borders series. The T206 Christy Mathewson dark cap pose is one of the most popular of all T206s, and one of the most highly regarded of all Mathewson cards. This example has a particularly bold image, extremely vibrant colors, and centering just a hint toward the bottom right. This is very sharp-looking card, extremely clean, both front and back, with four sharp corners (a bit more wear on the lower right). Boldly printed Sweet Caporal advertising on the reverse. This a tremendous high-grade example of one of the key Hall of Famers from the legendary T206 set, and it would be at home in any world-class T206, Christy Mathewson, or Hall of Fame collection.
