What is a “Reed Buy”?
Reed Kasaoka is the head buyer of the Sports Division at Dave & Adam's. His primary responsibility is traveling all over the country, buying private collections out of people’s closets, bedrooms, attics, basements, garages, and storage units, as well as complete inventories of show dealers, shop owners, autograph dealers, and distributors. Reed comes up with some amazing finds – rarely seen unopened boxes, quality graded cards, certified autographed memorabilia, and much more.
We have tagged all of his acquisitions as a Reed Buy so you’ll know where to look first for all of his deals. Almost every item is “one-of-a-kind” – so when you see something interesting, don’t hesitate, because there are likely many other collectors who are thinking the exact same thing!
Marshall Faulk Colts Autographed NFL 75th Authentic Throwback Prototype Jersey (94 Wilson 42) JSA KK52007
In May 2020, Reed purchased the collection of a former NFL Properties executive who spearheaded the NFL 75th Anniversary program in 1994.
One of the most popular images from the NFL 75th season was the introduction of throwback jerseys.
This jersey is a prototype model, used in various conferences and meetings with the NFL, integral to launching the throwback jersey campaign.
Many of these prototypes were limited to just a couple examples produced, and may contain subtle differences that didn't carry over to the finished on-field product.
These jerseys are true rarities that could only be obtained through the NFL or those closely associated with the NFL 75th Anniversary program.The autograph on the jersey was obtained by the NFL Properties executive in the following months as he interacted with many of the athletes.
