Doc Gooden made his MLB debut in 1984 with the New York Mets. He quickly established himself as one of the league's most talented pitchers at the age of 19 by earning his first of four All-Star slections, won the National League Rookie of the Year Award, and led the league in strikeouts. The following year, he won the National Leauge Cy Young, and achieved the pitching Triple Crown. The next year, he and the New York Mets won the World Series.
