The premier edition of the 1991 Pinnacle set contains 415 standard-size cards. The front design of the veteran player cards features two color photos, an action photo and a head shot, on a black background with white borders. The card backs have a color action shot superimposed on a black background. The rookie cards have the same design, except with a green background on the front, and head shots rather than action shots on the back. The backs also include a biography, player profile, and statistics (where appropriate). The set includes 58 rookies (253, 281-336, 393) and four special cards. Special subsets featured are Head to Head (351-355), Technicians (356-362), Gamewinners (363-371), Idols (372-386), and Sideline (394-415). A patented anti-counterfeit device appears on the bottom border of each card back. Rookie Cards in this set include Bryan Cox, Lawrence Dawsey, Ricky Ervins, Jeff Graham, Randal Hill, Russell Maryland, Bryce Paup, Erric Pegram, Mike Pritchard, Leonard Russell, and Harvey Williams.
