MVP Monday: Deanna Hodge

The winter is in full force, and the NFL season is coming to a close, so what do you have to look forward to? Well, MVP Monday of course! Every Monday we highlight an employee who’s been going above and beyond here at Dave and Adam’s. With several of our divisions growing, it increases our demand for various graphics/designs used for marketing and packaging. That’s where our MVP comes in! Meet our graphic designer, Deanna Hodge! As always, we sit down to talk and learn more about our MVP!

-What was your career before DA/HP?

I worked at The Bills Store for about 2 1/2 years before coming to Dave & Adam’s.

So it would appear that you’re into working for Buffalo companies? No complaints here! #Buffalove

– What are your favorite sports teams and why?

I grew up a Bills and Mets fan. Football and Baseball are the big sports in my family.

No one in the office will complain about the Bills, but the Mets? You might be getting some mean looks around the office for that answer!

– Do you have any pets?

Fitz is a Lab/Dalmatian mix. He’s about 11 months old and incredible.

What a little cutie!

– What are your interests outside of work?

Crochet, Kayaking, spending time with Fitz, and reading.

Would love to see you crochet a little sweater for Fitz! He’s gotta stay warm if you ever take him on a winter kayaking trip!

– Do you have any hobbies? rec leagues, art, music, etc.

Training Fitz. I hope to eventually get him certified as a therapy dog. I also listen to true crime podcasts (all day during work) and watch serial killer documentaries while I crochet.

That must be why you’re always alert and on edge! If there’s ever a mystery to be solved at the office, we’ll be sure to get you involved.

– Are you a former/current athlete? What sports did you play? What was your favorite?

Not currently, but I did fence a little.

Don’t you dare get on Deanna’s bad side! She carries her sabre with her at all times, so tread lightly!

– What’s an interesting fact about you?

I’m a huge Gilmore girls fan and have been to a couple fan festivals. #TeamLogan

I feel bad for whoever is not #TeamLogan.

-Is there a particular moment or time that sticks out about your experience here?

The first time I saw my work utilized for a big marketing campaign.

It’s a very rewarding experience to see all of your hard work come to fruition! Great work, Deanna!

-Is there an achievement or contribution that you are most proud of?

Being recognized as employee of the month for my work on the Hit Parade product photos. Hearing John say that I put out really nice looking photos really validated my hard work.

-What inspires you to be the best at your job?

Being a part of the success of such a growing company and making an impact on that success. It’s exciting to challenge myself to find new creative ways to promote our products.

-What has been your biggest challenge here, and what did you do to solve it on your own?

Working with such a diversified company and meeting the needs of everyone while still keeping the brand well established.

And you’ve been doing such an awesome job! Keep up the great work Deanna, we wouldn’t be the same without you!
