Graded Video Games by VGA (Video Game Authority)

Grading collectibles is a great way to keep your item in the best possible condition over time. You may have seen graded collectibles already in other industries like sports/gaming cards (PSA),  toys (AFA), and comic books (CGC). Getting an item graded helps to confirm the overall condition of the collectible and increase the value.

Video Games is the newest industry to start grading its collectibles and it is starting to become more popular with gamers. Video Game Authority (VGA) is the company that is grading video games and assigns grades out of 100. VGA will grade any video game from Nintendo NES to PlayStation 4 as long as it is originally sealed. As video collectors know keeping your sealed games in mint condition is extremely difficult especially for retro games. Nintendo did not make things any easier, before 2001 every video game was packaged in a cardboard box while Sega packaged their games in hard plastic cases. Since then 2001 Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony have all packaged their games in plastic DVD shells.

Dave & Adams has a large selection of graded games from VGA including: Halo: Combat Evolved (80 NM), Final Fantasy I & II for GBA (90 MN+/MT Gold), Donkey Kong Country 2 (80+ NM), Grand Theft Auto III for PS2 (85 NM+), Gauntlet Legends for N64 (VGA 90 NM+/MT Gold) and many more! We just received three amazing games back from VGA as well, they are:

  1. The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System Graded an 80 NM. The Legend of Zelda is one of the most acclaimed games for the Nintendo NES. Zelda was released in 1986 in Japan on the Nintendo Famicom system but was later released in 1987 for the NES. Zelda was the fourth best selling video game for the Nintendo NES selling 6.5 million copies worldwide.zelda
  2. A Nightmare on Elm Street for the Nintendo Entertainment System Graded an 85 NM+. The game was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in October of 1990 and is the only video game based on the horror movie franchise released for a home console. The price for this game has been on the rise for over a year now and is increasing in popularity. It is starting to become very difficult to find sealed and graded copies.nightmareonelmstreet
  3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the Nintendo Entertainment System Graded an (85+ NM+ Gold). TMNT was released by Konami in 1989 for the Nintendo NES and is the first video game based on the 1987 animated series. TMNT was a huge commercial success for Nintendo selling over 4 million copies to become one of the top-selling third party games and was even awarded game of the year by Nintendo Power in 1989.tmnt

Dave & Adams currently has over 20 games graded by VGA for Microsoft Xbox, Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, PSP,  Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameBoy Advance, DS and of course Nintendo NES.
