Dave & Adam’s “Leaders of The Pack” – Conference Championships

The match-up for Super Bowl 50 is now set, the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers will meet in California on February 7 for the right to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. It’s time to salute the players that made a difference in getting their respective teams to football’s promise land with the Conference Championship edition of “Leaders of The Pack”.

Quarterback: Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers – 19 of 28, 335 yards, 2 touchdowns; 10 rushes, 47 yards, 2 touchdowns

Cam Newton makes the game of football look easy and fun. He torched the Cardinals defense for four touchdowns as the Panthers cruised to the NFC title with a 49-15 win. Now Newton’s MVP season will continue with a chance to add a Super Bowl title to go along with the BCS National Championship he won at Auburn.

Running Back: Jonathan Stewart – Carolina Panthers – 19 carries, 83 yards

With four top quarterbacks suiting up in the Conference championship games you knew there wouldn’t be much emphasis placed on running the football on Sunday. Stewart posted the most yards out of any rusher as he helped the Panthers move the ball downfield in their victory over the Cardinals.

Wide Receiver: Owen Daniels – Denver Broncos – 2 catches, 33 yards, 2 touchdowns

The AFC Championship was more of a defensive struggle, but Daniels was on the receiving end of pair of touchdown passes from Peyton Manning in the first half. Daniels has spent his entire NFL career on teams with Gary Kubiak on their coaching staff. Now Daniels and Kubiak have teamed up to make to the Super Bowl.
