Young Guns rookie card are always the top draw for Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey. Boxes of 2015-16 Series 1 come with six Young Guns cards. This year’s set has a sharp looking design with black and gray text and graphics. The full checklist of Young Guns has not been finalized, but our sources indicate that the number one pick from the 2015 NHL Draft, Connor McDavid, will likely appear on a Young Guns card in Series 1. McDavid has already signed an exclusive trading card agreement with Upper Deck. The second pick from the 2015 draft, Jack Eichel, will arrive in Series 2.

Upper Deck Canvas cards land four per box. Many of the players in the base set will have a Canvas card, but it uses a different image and appears like it was printed on a piece of canvas. Upper Deck will include more Young Guns Canvas cards for 2015-16. Look for numbered autograph versions of the Canvas cards as well.

Boxes of 2015-16 Series will include one memorabilia card. UD Game Jerseys will have bigger swatch pieces for 2015-16, and have patch parallel versions out of 15. A Piece of History memorabilia cards have 300 Win Club and 1,000 Point Club versions. Look for patch versions of the 300 Win Club cards numbered to just ten.

UD Portraits inserts provide an up close look at current stars, rookies and legends. Portraits have two levels of numbered parallels: Gold (#’d to 99 for rookies and 25 for veterans and legends) and Platinum Blue (#’d to 25 for rookies and 5 for veterans and legends). Shining Stars inserts highlight some of the game’s top players with three per hobby box plus one Royal Blue parallel.

Clear Cut inserts are printed on acetate and a see-through appearance. These come in four different varieties: Superstars, Foundations (#’d to 25), Leaders (#’d to 10) and Honored Members Update (#’d to 100).
