In The Game’s flagship hockey product is back with a new configuration. 2014-15 Heroes and Prospects Hockey will once again highlight the top players currently in the CHL that will likely go on to be selected in the NHL Draft. With In The Game now under the ownership of Leaf it appears their products will take a more high end approach. Traditionally Heroes & Prospects had a base card set supplemented by autograph and memorabilia cards. 2014-15 Leaf/In The Game Heroes & Prospects Hockey will, however, feature just nine cards per box with all nine being a hit of some kind (5 autos & 4 memorabilia), and no base cards.
14-15 Heroes and Prospects is bolstered by the appearance of autograph and memorabilia cards from the likely number one overall pick in this June’s NHL Entry Draft, Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters. McDavid has the potential to be the next great NHL star as he is putting up points like crazy in the OHL. He currently has 98 points in just 37 games.
McDavid will be one of the players featured in Draft Prospects Autographs. These autograph cards will be hand-numbered to 15 and are signed by some of the top ranked prospects that will be available in the draft.
Prospects Autographs and Heroes Autographs are basic signature cards. Heroes Autographs feature former NHL stars and greats of the game. Both sets will have short print parallels available, including one-of-one versions.
Heroes and Prospects Hockey will have autographed memorabilia cards featuring jersey pieces from the CHL Top Prospects Game, CHL Subway Series, NHL All-Star games and regular season CHL games.
Multi-relic cards include Prospect Six Swatch cards that showcase six different players. Complete Jerseys come with four different jersey swatches from either a CHL prospect or a retired player. There are also dual relic cards that pair up a current player with a star from the past.
Additional relic cards include Nameplate Memorabilia cards with letters from jersey nameplates and one-of-one CHL logo patch cards. Between the Pipes features goalie equipment relic pieces from some of the top netminders of all time.
