How to Spot a Fake! 1st Edition Pokémon Booster Box Scam

Hey folks, Joseph Steet here!

We were recently sent a resealed Pokémon Fossil 1st Edition booster box through our Buy List and wanted to take this opportunity to provide some education about red flags for sealed product.

The Pokémon Fossil 1st Edition box has a lot of wear to it, but the shrink wrap is free of blemishes.

The shrink wrap is extremely taut over multiple significant indentations in the box, which would not be possible unless the shrink wrap was applied after the box was already in this shape (both meanings of shape- condition and geometric).

Lastly, while impossible to convey in photos, the shrink wrap is the wrong material. It is nowhere close to correct, and if you’ve held boxes previously you’d notice it immediately upon contact.

Keep in mind, while these are all red flags, the absence of a red flag is not a green light. That’s why it’s important to buy your sealed product from trusted sources like Dave & Adam’s!

Sincerely,
Joseph Steet
