MVP Monday: Molly Phillips

Folks welcome back to another edition of MVP Monday, where we showcase one of the great people who make Dave & Adam’s what it is!

This week we’re highlighting our Marketing/Social Media intern – Molly Phillips – who just finished her second Summer internship with us! Molly helps with everything from writing these every week, cutting/editing videos for social media, taking our marketing initiatives at the National to the next level & more!

Let’s get into it!

What are you looking forward to this Summer?

Since the summer is coming to an end, I will say I am most excited to study abroad this semester! I am traveling the world and living in Madrid.

Madrid s one of those “you don’t realize how amazing it is until you experience it” places and I am JEALOUS.

Do you have any hobbies? Rec leagues, art, music, etc.

My hobbies are coloring (in coloring books), reading, working out and walking.

I think the best “trend” the last few years has been the come up of adult coloring books!

What is your favorite movie & why?

My favorite movie is ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. I truly think it is the most well-put-together film with the best cast, music, and settings. It is my dream fairytale too!

A 91% on the “Tomatometer” and the Molly bump!? BRB gotta go watch this right now.

What superpower would you want if you could choose your own?

100% invisibility. I chose this because I would love to spy on different people and go through walls and cars to avoid traffic!

Invisibility is what the kids like to call “OP”

Do you have any pets? (include pics!)

I have a dog named Chase. He was named after Chase Utley back when he was on the Phillies. He is a toy poodle. He is literally my best friend and the cutest little fur ball.

We love a good lil’ pup over here & Chase!?! Can we get him as Friday’s guest on “The Chase”!?

What are your favorite sports teams?

Both the Sixers and the Eagles of course! Only the best teams and family to be a part of. Us Philly fans are hardcore.

Two words…GO BILLS.

Someone gives you an elephant. You can’t sell it or give it away. What do you do with the elephant?

Considering baby elephants are my favorite animal, I would definitely keep it and treat it as my own!

Okay, baby elephants ARE awesome but babies eventually become adults if my math checks out. What then!?

If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what song would you choose and why?

‘Lover of the Light’ by Mumford and Sons: it’s my song with my dad so it is extra special and I truly love their music… even though they’re breaking up.

SUCH a good song.

Are you a former/current athlete? What sports did you play? What was your favorite?

I danced for 16 years. I played tennis in high school. I played basketball for 5 years and swam for around 7 years when I was younger too.

Okay but how do those 16 years of training translate to DDR!?

What’s an interesting fact about you?

An interesting fact about me is that I am gluten-free! And no, not by choice… it sucks!

I still don’t really know what Gluten is but I’m pretty sure I can’t live without it!

If you were an animal what would you be and why?

A dog. They’re perfect and usually smart. Such a family animal and I love family.

No witty comments here, Dogs are the Goat…you know what I mean!

What’s your favorite travel destination/vacation spot?

Israel for sure. Was by far my most memorable vacation and super special. As for my family, definitely Hawaii. Freakin’ gorgeous!

I need to get to Hawaii one day…Hey Reed, need a travel buddy on your next trip down!?

What 2 items would you want on you if you were stranded on a deserted island (food and water covered)

Considering my phone wouldn’t have service or an outlet, prob flint and a coloring book!

Okay but if there’s no kindling do you sacrifice the coloring book pages to start a fire!?!

Is cereal soup? Why or why not?

This question really messes with my brain because I understand both sides. But in my opinion, no it is not a soup.

NOOOOOOO MOLLY! I never thought you’d betray me like this!

What’s your favorite product that we sell?

ALL OF THEM!

Good answer!

Do you have any collections of your own?

I used to collect cards when I was younger. But now, not really. I plan to collect something during my abroad semester. Still have to decide what that is though.

Hmmmm, well if you do make it to the Netherlands I think I know a shop you can stop at! (Follow @dacardworld_EU 😉 )

Tell me about your background with DA? What attracted you to work for us?

I have loved interning with both DA/HP the last two summers. You all are such amazing people. I have made some amazing memories and have learned a lot.

Awww, too sweet to even make a joke. We’re going to miss you over here :’) )

If you had a time machine, would you travel to the future or back to the past and why?

The past. I want to meet my great-grandparents, especially my mom’s grandma. I was named after her.

Back-to-back heartfelt answers, I love it (& can relate to this)

Is there an achievement or contribution that you are most proud of?

I am most proud of graduating high school in the top 70 out of 600 students in my class.

The smartest intern I’ve ever had! Ignore the fact she’s been my only intern lol

Is there a particular moment or time that sticks out about your experience here?

The National was an amazing and memorable two days for me. I loved helping out and meeting new people.

Guys, she won’t say this but Molly was a TROOPER walking around the floor with us all day while on a broken foot. *claps*

What makes you love your job?

Having fun while working is key for me. And I can truly say, being a part of the team has been an amazing experience and one I will never forget.

Awww, well if there’s one thing we do here – it’s have fun! (maybe too much sometimes lol)

What has been your biggest challenge here, and what did you do to solve it on your own?

WORKING REMOTE!!! I LOVE BEING IN AN OFFICE AND WITH THE CREW!

We loved having you in person at the National!! Doors are open at Oriskany for you anytime (once you’re done galivanting around the globe!)

A BIG thank you Molly for all that you’ve done for us! You’re the real MVP!
