It’s Monday, and we are back again to highlight one of the awesome members of the Dave & Adam’s family! Today we are excited to highlight Eric Cholis, our Chief Information Officer!
Eric has had a long career with Dave & Adam’s dating all of the way back to 2000! He started almost directly out of high school where he was responsible for shipping single card orders from eBay from our retail store. After only a few months with the company, Eric was given the daunting task of creating the company’s first ever website. He successfully launched the first version in 2001 and believe it or not, this is what it looked like as compared to our website now!
As you could imagine, building the first ever website was something Eric was very proud of and continues to be. Not only did it give him the opportunity to discover his career, but it has paved the way for the last 20 years with Dave & Adam’s.
If you’re with a company for over 20 years, you are bound to have a few hiccups here and there, especially working in tech. One that stuck out the most for Eric was when the main server for the entire company died… a tech nightmare. No server means that processing and shipping orders was almost impossible, and chaos ensued. Within a reasonable amount of time, Eric ended the madness and created a number of tools and processes which got our sales and shipping teams back up and running!
Eric is very passionate about his job and expressed how fortunate he is to learn and discover new technology daily. Since Eric was a former customer, he always uses a customer first approach when building software and creating new features for our website.
Outside of work, Eric enjoys hiking, gaming, camping, ice climbing, mountain climbing and of course…technology. He and his wife climbed that highest mountain in North America, Denali and are eager to get back at it! Some of his favorite products sold here at Dave & Adam’s are our Star Wars CCG comics, so check them out if you haven’t!
Thanks for being our MVP Eric and we look forward to the next 20 years!
