Coming Soon: Dave & Adam’s Upper Deck Cards

Be on the look out this November at Dave & Adam’s for some very special cards that will be part of a holiday promo. These cards don’t feature any athletes on them, at least not professional ones, but they do showcase our founders, Dave and Adam.

There are three different Dave & Adam cards to collect. The first one is the “base card” featuring Dave and Adam standing in front of one of our retail locations in Buffalo. Dave is holding a box of 2013-14 Upper Deck SP Authentic Hockey while Adam is holding a box of 1990-91 Upper Deck Hockey (the first ever hockey release by UD).

There are also two variants. The first is the “purple hat/purple shirt” variant that pays tribute to Ken Griffey Jr.’s 1989 Upper Deck rookie card. Versions of the Griffey card had a printing flaw that made his baseball hat appear purple. In honor of this Upper Deck has turned Adam’s hat purple and Dave’s shirt purple as well. The second variation is the “Reverse Negative” variant. This pays homage to Dale Murphy’s card from the 1989 baseball set, which was initially printed in reverse. Upper Deck eventually released Murphy’s card printed the right way, but the reverse negative version is valued more by collectors. The Dave & Adam’s reverse card has the image flipped, which is made obvious by the giant backwards D & A logo behind our founders.

Upper Deck made these cards as part of their on-going 25th anniversary celebration. Dave & Adam’s is proud of its great business relationship with Upper Deck and its status as an Upper Deck authorized internet retailer and Certified Diamond Dealer.

Be sure to check back this holiday season on how you can get a hold of these truly unique cards. We might even try to get Dave and Adam to sign a couple to increase their “value”.
