Welcome back to another round of The Best Box Break Hits of the Week from the DACW Live Lounge and our team of breakers. Our breaks are streamed live through Twitch, Breakers.TV, and YouTube, encouraging participants to interact during the break and are always a fun time; when a great card gets pulled, we can’t help but get excited ourselves! That’s the beauty of box breaks – you never know what you’ll get and you can’t help but feel a little adrenaline rush every time there’s a pull. Follow along here on the blog as we will be recapping and showcasing some of the best pulls each week.
So without further ado, here are some of the awesome, rare, and more valuable cards from our box breaks the past two weeks:
We’ll start this edition of the blog with a couple of football hits from Baker Mayfield and DJ Moore. Mayfield Mania has swept over the NFL and Cleveland after the Browns Thursday Night Football victory two weeks ago and their shootout in Oakland this past Sunday. Coming out of 2018 Panini Spectra Football is this beautiful Rookie Auto Patch! Also from Spectra came this RPA of Carolina Panthers wide receiver DJ Moore. The patch is the Nike swoosh logo from the jersey’s jock tag. Very cool!
With the NHL season starting on Wednesday let’s turn our attention to some recent breaks from the ice. First up Evgeni Malkin with the cool Upper Deck Ice Net Cord card. This came from the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals and is numbered 21/25.
Also from the ice comes a few major hits out of the 2018 inaugural release Upper Deck Splendor Hockey. We’ll start with two young phenoms Connor McDavid (who might just be the best player in the NHL already in just three seasons) and last year’s number one overall draft pick Nico Hischier. The McDavid card patch is the ‘k’ from the back neck Reebok logo found on NHL jerseys up until last season and is numbered 4/5. The Hischier patch appears to be from the Devils crest logo and i numbered 5/6!
Sticking with the Splendor brand but this time it’s two legends of the game – ‘The Great One’ Wayne Gretzky and ‘Super’ Mario Lemieux! The Gretzky is 21/22 and the Lemieux is 2/36. What a debut for the brand, just some amazing cards coming out of Splendor!
It was another great couple of weeks of hits for our breakers in the lounge.
