Topps introduced its' first hockey set in 1954-55. The issue includes 60 cards of players on the 4 American team (Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers) Cards measure approxamately 2 5/8" x 3 3/4". Color fronts feature the player on a white background with a facsimile autograph and team logo. The player's name, team name, and position appear in bottom borders that are in team colors. The backs, printed in red and blue, contain player biographies, 1953-54 statistics, and a hockey fact section. The cards were printed in the USA. Rookie cards include Camille Henry and Doug Mohns. An early and very popular card of Gordie Howe is the main attraction in this legendary set.
