Highlights for the Mets started in the 2nd inning when Hidalgo scored and Cameron advanced to third on a throwing error by Posada. Phillips hit a sacrifice fly to center field allowing Cameron to score. In the 4th inning the Mets scored an incredible 6 runs. The runners who scored were Wigginton, Zeile, Phillips, Reyes, Matsui and Piazza In the 7th Floyd hit a home run to left center field. The winning pitcher was Leiter, he pitched 6 innings. Highlights for the Yankees came in the 3rd when Sheffield homered to left field with Williams on base. in the 4th Matsui homered to right field.
