    Venture into the far north and combat ancient American horrors in Omens of Ice, an expansion for the cooperative dice game Elder Sign. Deep in the Alaskan wilderness Ancient Ones are awakening whose diabolical forces cannot be fought within the safe confines of the Arkham Museum. You must brave the Tundra, solve the mysteries of native Inuit traditions, and make the treacherous ascent up the mountains of the Alaska Range. There, wild animals and monsters are far from the only dangers you'll encounter, for frostbite and starvation are among the Ancient Ones' deadliest weapons.

    Omens of Ice features a complete deck of sixty Alaskan Adventure cards. They open up locations across that frozen territory, where three new Ancient Ones threaten to awaken, and a new deck of Mythos cards makes midnight more terrifying than ever. For the first time in Elder Sign, the season matters as much as the time of day, and you can choose whether to take up your quest in the summer sun or, for a greater challenge, the winter dark. Eight additional investigators contribute their abilities to the struggle against evil, and new Allies, Spells, Common Items and Unique Items help you prevent the freezing of the entire Earth.

    An archaeological expedition from the prestigious Miskatonic University has vanished in the frozen wilds of Alaska. Now, a team of intrepid investigators from Arkham must brave strange storms and unthinkable horrors to find them, and confront the ancient darkness that they have awakened.

    The Omens of Ice expansion provides a new adventure set in the cold and mysterious wilds of Alaska. As fierce snowstorms roll over the world, investigators must utilize every resource at their disposal to seek out the source of these storms in the far north and seal it away for another thousand years. They must face new horrifying Ancient Ones, monsters, and mythos cards that will challenge even the most seasoned investigators. Players are also provided new allies, spells, and items that can be used while adventuring in any locale.

    Featuring a deck of more than sixty Alaskan adventures, three new Ancient Ones, eight investigators, and thirty Alaskan mythos cards, Omens of Ice doesn't just expand your games of Elder Sign, it completely transforms them. You're no longer in the Museum. You're not even in Arkham. Your adventures take you deep into the frozen woods and rugged mountains of the Alaskan arctic.

    Elder Sign Transformed and Frozen

    In Omens of Ice, your expedition must proceed through two stages, although it's up to you to determine when you move from the first stage to the second. So long as you stay in that first stage, you can search for clues, allies, and supplies amid the relatively safe towns of Fairbanks and Anchorage, as well as the neighboring Inuit communities. This time can be truly useful; you'll need those allies and supplies to help you survive your later challenges, and the clues you uncover may even lead you to one or more invaluable elder signs. However, you cannot thwart the Ancient One's rise until you press deep into the frozen wilds and the greater dangers of the expedition's second stage.

    In the second stage, you will face terrifying cold and hunger, raging storms, ravenous wolf packs, and creatures that defy description. You'll need your supplies to survive, and if you're not well-stocked, you may succumb to frostbite and starvation well before you ever test your sanity against the Ancient One and the strange cultists and servitors that flock to it, even in the bitter arctic.

    The whole time, you'll face storms that unleash chaos upon your expedition. They may wreck your supplies or drain your stamina and sanity. They may even conceal monsters that set upon your group. The more of these storms you face, the less likely your chances of success become, and the longer your expedition drags on, the more storms you're bound to face. Throughout your games of Omens of Ice, you'll track your progress along a Track Card that adds more storms each new day, and provides a clear view of your supplies as they diminish. Altogether, this combination of weather, supplies, and Track Card ensures that each of your games of Omens of Ice are driven forward with a clear sense of urgency.
