2014 Panini Black Gold Football preview

In their quest to come up with new product designs Panini has taken two previous releases and combined them. 2014 Panini Black Gold Football borrows from previous Panini releases, like Black Football and Gold Standard Football for a new high-end release.

Each box comes with two four-card packs. Packs will contain one autograph (either singe, dual or memorabilia auto) card plus an additional autograph, memorabilia or gold disc card. There will also be one Metal Logo card and one Shadowbox base card or parallel. All cards are printed on PETG acetate.

Panini Black Gold Football has 100 Shadowbox base cards featuring 50 veterans, 15 legends and 35 rookies. Look for one-of-one printing plates in addition to parallel versions.

Signatures cards include Black Gold Autographs, which have autographs of veteran and rookie players in gold ink. Additional autographs can be found in Gold Strike Autographs.

Auto relic cards come in several varieties. Rookie Autograph jerseys have jumbo-sized memorabilia pieces and signatures in gold ink. Sizeable Signatures (#’d to 199 or less) also have large relic swatches, but signatures are in silver ink. One-of-one parallel versions for both sets include Patch, Tag, Nike Swoosh and NFL Sheild.

Multirelic cards include Golden Opportunity dual-memorabilia cards with one-of-one jersey tag variations. Rookie Tetrad Shadowbox cards contain four relic pieces.

Gold Standard inserts contain a disc of actual gold. There are hard-to-find variations of these cards with team or NFL logos on the disc.

Each pack of Panini Black Gold comes with a metal logo card that are numbered to 149. Black Gold parallels are numbered to five.
