The Marvel Super Hero Squad Online Trading Card Game is releasing Tuesday, April 23rd 2012. Announced by Marvel, Upper Deck and Gazillion Entertainment on February 29th, the trading card game will feature special rewards that can be used in the popular online game.

About Marvel Super Hero Squad:

Marvel’s “Super Hero Squad” began as a Hasbro toy line in 2006 where they depicted popular Marvel characters with a cartoon-like style. Marvel created the Super Hero Squad Cartoon series in 2009, and then went digital in 2011 with a massive multi-player online game (MMO) that has taken off with younger Marvel fans. To provide additional connectivity and make the game even more exciting for online users, the TCG is enhanced with exclusive loot cards and reward codes that can be used to unlock exciting features in Marvel Super Hero Squad Online.

Each Booster Box contains 24 packs of 10 random cards. Each pack has 6 common, 3 uncommon and 1 rare foil card. One in every eight booster packs could contain a super-rare rainbow foil card in place of the regular rare card. There will also be Two-Player Intro packs which put the Avengers up against the X-Men, and will include two exclusive play mats and a collectible coin.

When he fought it was truly an event much like watching Michael Jordan in the NBA Finals or seeing Tiger Woods go for a win on Sunday at Augusta. He achieved greatness by unifying the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles and was recently inducted into the Boxing Hall-of-Fame. Now Tyson joins the Upper Deck team to appear in new trading card releases and to lend his signature to trading cards and Upper Deck Authenticated memorabilia.

One of the more anticipated pieces will be the Mike Tyson “Tegata” piece which will not only include Tyson’s signature, but also an ink hand print. But most importantly, we brought in some of the biggest names in hockey. On four consecutive days we had Gordie Howe, Tony Esposito, Steven Stamkos, and Gilbert Perreault each signing at one of our four Buffalo area stores.  These hockey legends were outstanding as they posed for pictures and interacted with fans.
