Earlier today Upper Deck announced the release of 2009/10 NBA Exquisite Collection Basketball. Here are some details from UD:

Topps Triple Threads Baseball is scheduled to release the first week of October. Topps has added a special “Camelot Card” to the product, paying tribute to the Kennedy Brothers – John, Robert, and Ted. The card is limited to just 5 and will be inserted into random packs of Topps Triple Threads Baseball Cards.

The always popular SP Authentic Football is now on the minds of many football card collectors as Upper Deck released preliminary images for the product on its facebook page. This extremely sharp looking Mark Sanchez 1/1 was just one of the initial designs.

Panini has released preliminary information for their upcoming 2009 Prestige Basketball. Included in the product will be autographed rookie cards of #1 pick Blake Griffin.

In the Game Released 1972: The Year in Hockey. The product delivers on great looking base cards and collectors can also find cut signature cards commemorating 1972 -The Year in Sports, Music, Television, Movies, and Politics.

From a new product perspective, its a big week for Topps Chrome Football. This product just released and is on fire. Next week look for Bowman Chrome Baseball and Upper Deck Goodwin Champions Baseball to make a big splash.

2008/09 Ultimate Collection Basketball has hit the shelves. Each box delivers 1 Autograph, Memorabilia, or Autographed Memorabilia Card. Here are some of the preview images Upper Deck had previously released:

The autograph list contains all the usual High End Stars - including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, and the NBA Rookie Of the Year Derrick Rose.

Press Pass Announces Super Premium, Hobby Only Nascar Trading Card Product

Press Pass will produce Press Pass Showcase 2009 with a scheduled release date of July 15th. Every pack will contain either an autograph or race-used memorabilia card from a top NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver or team.

Here are some product specs:

* 53-card base set printed on foil board including short-printed rookie autographed memorabilia cards.
* Four sequentially numbered levels for base cards, autograph cards and memorabilia cards!

What’s cool about the upcoming release of Upper Deck’s 2008/09 Champ’s Hockey, which comes out on March 17th, is the inclusion of hard-signed autos and first time a core hockey release has mini-signatures! Fossils Have Been Discovered at Upper Deck

Upper Deck will “unearth” a variety of dinosaur and prehistoric creatures’ fossils to include in the 2008-09 Champ’s Hockey set.

They are now being cut so they can be placed into the cards. The larger bones, from creatures like the Woolly Mammoth and Woolly Rhinoceros, will probably make at least 100 cards, but any cards that feature teeth will be much rarer.

“We didn’t want to ruin the feeling that you were actually getting a tooth by cutting them up too much,” said Matt Bromley, Upper Deck’s associate hockey brand manager. “But they were too thick to just include them whole. We moved ahead with cutting them vertically in half so now there will be two copies for each of these unique cards.”

Tooth cards will be made of dinosaurs like the Spinosaurus, Pterosaur and the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

“The 2008-09 Champ’s Hockey product is a perfect vessel to deliver something truly unique like this to the hobby,” said Josh Zusman, Upper Deck hockey brand manager. “When we saw these pieces coming in, everybody was in awe. The inclusion of these cards in this hockey release helps bring the Ice Age to the ice.”

2008-09 Champ’s Hockey should hit shelves in mid-March.

Topps Adds Lottery Picks to Letterman Basketball

Topps has announced that Topps Letterman Basketball, which is scheduled to release tomorrow, includes one bonus 2008 Lottery Pick Letter Redemption card every 4 Master Boxes! Each card will feature a letter patch from a lottery pick’s last name and will be sequentially numbered to 25. Below are the available players and print runs.

Letterman Basketball has already made waves this year with the previous announcement of randomly inserted 14K Gold Letterman cards. These Letterman Cards feature a solid 14K Gold Letter for each letter of the 14 NBA Superstars names.

Donruss Signs Former Georgia Bulldog Star Gordon Beckham

Donruss has signed Gordon Beckham to an autograph deal. The former Georgia Bulldog shortstop and College World Series standout will appear on packaging for 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition.

As part of the deal, Donruss also has obtained a Beckham game-used Georgia jersey worn during the 2008 season in which the Bulldogs reached the College World Series final before falling to Fresno State. The jersey will be used in EEE.

Beckham was selected in the first-round of the 2008 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Chicago White Sox.

“Gordon Beckham is a perfect fit for Elite Extra Edition, and he’s been a great guy to work with,” says Donruss Brand Manager Ben Ecklar. “He’s taken interest in the product, wanting to make sure we had everything we need.”
