My favorite box is the Topps 206 because of the genuine look to the cards, and because I knew almost every player in the box. There was Cy Young, Mickey Mantle, David Ortiz, Ryan Howard and lots more. I collect a lot of cards and this was the only box of cards that I kept getting.

My favorite box is the 1989 Upper Deck. Ken Griffey Jr. was THE BEST player of my childhood and I always wanted the #1 Junior Rookie card. I finally bought the card a few years ago for $20… I remember when it was worth $100+. The card is priceless to me. Not to mention I’m a HUGE Braves fan and the John Smoltz Rookie is in that set as well. His card is #17 in that set which was my baseball number. I still look for a deal on an unopened 89 Upper Deck box at yard sales, antique shops and eBay. I’d LOVE to experience pulling a Griffey Jr. Rookie straight out of the pack!

1999 Topps Traded. Every box had the promise of a great autographed rookie card. Soriano, Dunn, Sabathia, Crawford, Mulder, Burrell and later Hamilton. One of the true joys in life.

I don’t know if this counts as a “Card” Box or not, but I loved the 1998 Pinnacle Snapshots set that came out. We got to see some of the “Outtake” photos that would have never made it to cards. This set is partially what inspired me to become the professional sports photographer I am today.

  10. Jackson Malcolm March 13, 2010 at 1:58 pm #

I think that it is the 2009 Bowman Draft Picks and prspects box! It covers almost every prospect imaginable, and includes a ton of rear refractor and autograph cards! A huge hit!

I always loved the 1997 Metal Boxes, Basketball and Football. Both were great to me. It may have been the fact that my father just up and bought them for me and brought them home one day for no reason whatsoever, but mind you this was when sportscard were, so called, “in”. So those boxes were around $100 bux a piece. Some great little inserts not to mention the very rare precious metal gems inserts. You arent even guaranteed one of those in a box and i pulled 3 out of 2 boxes. Lucky me.

my Favorite box Has To be The 87 Donruss. I Always liked the Design Of The Donruss Cards, And Thought The 87 Set Was Awesome. Plus, That Was The Very First Box I ever bought. As A Kid, It Was Amazing To have So Many Packs To Open, That I Was in Heaven… Good Times, Good Times.

  20. Mitchell B May 2, 2010 at 7:01 pm #

I love to open 2007 upper deck sp rookie edition. Now days all the boxes are so highly valued it takes away the hobby from the kids. You can get a box of this for 20 bucks and get two nice rookie autos and some very nice rookie and base cards.

My favorite would have to be 1986-87 fleer basketball. I am a yard sale fanatic and always look for cards. I went to one a month ago and bought a sealed BOX!!! for 20 bucks. Definately the find of a lifetime for me. I received 3 jordan rookies out of that box.

  24. Nathan Crandell May 11, 2010 at 11:53 am #

I started collecting when I was 5, with donruss wax packs. But my favorite box every, had to have been a 2001 topps chrome hobby box, that I got when it was released. I pulled Albert Pujols RC and have been a fan of his and topps chrome every since.

Great Video. I am currently collecting 1959 Topps. I think it’s one of the coolest sets because of the circular design in the middle.
