i say the 1993 Topps box set is the best set i have recieved. My Best friend gave it to me for my B-day and 3 months later he past away from a car crash. I have set the box up so i can remember him and all the great things we did together.

I think the 2008 Upperdeck series 2 hobby box because you get jersey cards a signed card and for a low price. Which is good for kids like me who don’t have a lot of money but can still get good cards.

My favorite was the 1975 Topps mini cards. These are the first packs of cards that I bought when I was younger. A couple weeks later I started buying the 1975 Topps “regular” cars in packs. I always like the mini cards versus the regular ones because of their size.

    1986 Topps baseball

Just because its older than me and it was given to me by my grandpa for my bday. Ever since ive been caring for it, when ive moved 5 times and my mom almost threw em away in the third cus they made too much space, i had to throw away some video games that were good just to keep my cards..

  21. Ryan Tracy November 21, 2009 at 6:51 pm #

My favorite baseball box is any year of Topps Sterling. They have great cards and also a really nice box. I just opened one recently and pulled an Ernie Banks auto along with 4 pieces of memoribilia.

  24. Andrew Michaelson December 7, 2009 at 12:07 pm #

1976 Topps cards were my introduction to collecting, and since my love for the cards hasn’t stopped since age 7, that box must’ve been pretty fabulous. It really epitomized the era, too — or maybe just to me . . .

  25. jake bart December 14, 2009 at 9:50 am #

  26. william santamore December 15, 2009 at 12:50 pm #

the best box i ever opened was 07 Sp legendary cuts baseball, not only was it full of all time greats, it was the only really good card i ever pulled and it was a warren spawn 29/35, i’ll never part with it.

  27. juancorrea December 18, 2009 at 3:43 pm #

The best box of cards I ever opened was the 2008 Topps Series 2 box. My dad bought nit for me on my birthday. I got a lot of good cards but the look on my dad’s face was priceless. Good memories!

  31. Dan P December 24, 2009 at 1:30 am #

My fondest memory of my childhood is when i opened a pack of spx 1993 baseball cards. Each pack contained only 1 baseball card for something like 6 dollars a pack. As a kid of 12 years old, 6 bucks was a lot of money. It was a bit of a gamble but my favorite baseball player, Mike Piazza, was one of the 2 players offered as a special insert in a specific card collection within the series. I remember my mom driving me home from the local baseball card shop, we were on the overpass over highway 40 sitting at the stop light, and i opened this pack of spx baseball cards. Im sure you can guess what was inside the pack. The suquentially numbered authographed baseball card of Mike Piazza. I nearly shit a brick. I begged my mom to turn back around so i could grab a good case put this in. This card hasn’t left its spot since i purchased it. Its on my bedside table right now.

  34. Brian Schmid January 1, 2010 at 1:53 pm #

My favorite box to open was definately a box of 1994 metal universe. It is the most unique box out there, and getting to see all of my idols while growing up while they were young was also fun.

  35. Tab Langis January 5, 2010 at 4:27 pm #

My favorite is sentimental, 1988 Donruss baseball. As a kid, split custody meant summers in New England with my dad. Pestering him in the grocery checkout one day led to my first pack of baseball cards, and later learning about baseball and falling in love with the sport and card collecting. I was so young then that I didn’t understand card values, I used to play with the card, matching up the borders of the cards to make a complete picture out on the kitchen table. Needless to say, I have since purchased the box set from that summer.

My favorite boxes to buy are the Topps Allen and Ginter’s hobby box. I enjoy seeing the look that they design on the card. I remember pulling a rip card from a 2008 version. If memory serves me well i believe it might have been a Ryan Howard card. Been collecting for years but these happen to be my favorite boxes to buy!
