2006 Fleer Greats of the Game is my favorite box to open. It has all the old-time players and there are four hits so it makes it fun to open each pack. My last box had six hits so that was extra special. But I’ve gotten really good stuff out of it. The insert cards are neat too.

1987 Topps Baseball. Got me back into collecting for the first time since the early 70’s. Great rookies; Bo Jackson, Will Clark, Barry Bonds, Rafael Palmeiro, Barry Larkin and lots more (including the ageless Jamie Moyer. Good design with a nod to the beautiful 1962 wood bordered Topps cards.

I’ve opened a lot of boxes over the years, but the best, without a doubt, is 2007 Topps Heritage. We had been married for a full year before I revealed my card addiction to my wife, Heather. She embraced it and we obsessively ripped through about 10 hobby boxes trying to complete the set. She got more into it than me by the end, she would come home from work with a paper bag containing 10 hobby packs and some penny sleeves, it was great!!!!

The best box I ever opened was 1989 Upper Deck. The thought of pulling a Griffey Jr. rc made me shake with each pack I opened. When I finally did pull that amazing card I got so excited I ran around my block screaming at the top of my lungs. It was so exciting back then to pull that amazing rookie card.

My favorite box of all-time is 2007 SP Authentic Baseball. I really like this box because of how interesting the letterman autos are. You don’t have to worry about not getting one because there are 2 in every box. 1 veteran, and 1 rookie!

I’m an American soldier serving an one year tour in Afghanistan. There is nothing more America than baseball and service to one’s country. I also served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and my favorite box of cards would have to be Topps- Desert Shield and Desert Storm collector’s series. Go Army and Go Topps!

For me it would have to be a 1952 National Treasures chase box. Granted I did not find the 1952 pack, but all the excitement that surrounded it was awesome…with each pack I could find unparelelled RCs. Something that is just with out saying the best thing ever.

May 6th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
I have to say it was a box of 2004 SPX, but not exactly for the card design or that I got 3 autos and 1 GU. But I finally after 10 years of opening boxes at Christmas time with my cousin had my favorite all-time pull. On the last pack of the box I pulled an Auto/GU of Nolan Ryan with a beautiful three color Angels swatch numbered to 25!

Without a doubt my fave box that I have opened was a box of 2005 Topps Pristine. The hit I loved was a Jimmy Key Title Threads Game Jersey. Not much of a value but as a Jays fan, brought back the memories of when they won the back to back World Series Titles. I have always thought that Jimmy Key was one of the most under rated players around!

I would have to say the set I started with when I was a kid. That would be the 1968 topps cards with Nolan Ryan rookie card. Never did complete the set.. I’ve looked thru a set once and it was a mint set at that.. All the great players in that set.. Would really love putting one of these sets together.. John

I remember openeing a hobby box of 1996 Fleer baseball. At first I disliked the cards, as the matte finish appeared cheap to me. With each pack I opened I grew more to like the matte idea and the overall look of the card. There was one insert per pack and a parallel every once in a while. By the end of the box I was determined to complete the set and did-except for one card-the Paul Molitor, who just happened to be my favorite player. When I think of box breaks, nothing tops this one.

I’d have to say 1987 Topps. That’s where it started for me, and it was all fun, innocent collecting then. I didn’t care what I could sell them for — I just enjoyed the pictures, stats, and making trades with friends. I built the set, and can still remember fondly the search for the elusive last card of the 792.

I am a Topps and Bowman Collector (Set Builder) of many years and my favorite of those are the 2001 Bowman because of several reasons. 1. they have very Great rookies which the cards have good value even 8 years later and 2. the card is a good looking but fragile card and if kept well they will be holding their Book Value for many more years. My favorite box of baseball cards would have to be 1983 Topps. I started collecting a few years earlier, but this was the year I started buying multiple packs per grocery store visit. At the time, I just wanted to get as many A’s cards as I could. Soon, I wanted the whole set. After the 1984 World Series, Tony Gwynn became my favorite player and the San Diego Padres became my favorite National League team. That’s when I started buying every Tony Gwynn rookie card that I could afford. Years later, I actually began to appreciate the card design as well. The small photo, along with the large photo is a classic design. That’s why, I think the 1983 Topps baseball set is the greatest of all time.

******My favorite box is **2001 Bowman Chrome** because the year before I quit collecting I missed out on the chance of getting Albert Pujols autographed rookie card. But of course I started back collecting because I never want to miss a chance like that again.******

My favorite box was 2007 Allen & Ginter because we bought one hobby box and pulled the Chien-Ming Wang auto #’d to 200. We then were able to trade the $400 auto for a ton of GU’d and autos of HOF players. My best pull ever.

My favorite box ever has to be 2008 bowman chrome. I received a box for my birthday and I pulled an Evan Longoria Rookie auto #’d to 150. The look of these cards is fantastic. They’re shiny, thick, and a great set. It’s amazing to look at how companies have been able to develop the look of the cards so well. I take my hat off to Topps, Upper Deck, and any other companies.

Don Drysdale Autographed Nabisco Card. I’m a lifelong Dodger fan, and went through the process to get this card. Drysdale passed away shortly after I sent for the card. The day before I received the card, I received a letter from Nabisco stating that because Drysdale had passed away, the card would be discontinued out of respect for the family. I’ve had the card and the letter ever since.

Since it was released, I have always been a huge fan of 2001 Fleer Platinum Packs and Boxes. When they came out i got at least a few packs per day and the cards and inserts were just gorgeous. I pulled my first memorabilia card out of a box of Platinum, an Ozzie Smith Game Used Jersey Card. Just started collecting again, just bought a few tobacco cards (can’t get enough of the t206’s) and I always go back and look for Fleer Platinum 2001.

I would have to say 1989 Upper Deck. OK I get it! They’re ordinary compared to what can be done with cards now, but at the time, cards went from rough cardboard with wax or gum stains to slick clean cards with those little anti-counterfeiting holographic diamonds on them. Card collecting has never been the same. Thank God! Good Hunting!

1978 Topps. Alan Trammell’s RC is the all-time greatest RC card…having Trammell & Paul Molitor on the same RC is awesome. Now we just need the writers to wise up and put Trammell in the HOF, so card #707 of the 1978 Topps set will be the ONLY rookie card of all time that has 2 Hall of Famers on it.

Stupid maybe… but I really like the ‘89 Upper Deck set. I think it was their first set and while they have come up with some ’stinker’ sets lately..oh boy, have you seen 2009 First Edition Baseball?… I LOVE the 89 set. Not for the Griffey, but for the Randy Johnson rookie card. Randy is my favorite pitcher and we’re trying to get down to see the Giants this summer. Randy is probably on his way out and Lincecum is just getting settled in. One Legend, future first-round Hall of Famer and who knows, maybe Lincecum will be as good. 89 Upper Deck.

Fav baseball box was ‘83 Topps. It was our family’s first trip to Disneyland and my first time inside a Toy’s R Us- which at the time was EPIC- I grabbed a bunch of packs of these and picked up several great RCs, like Gwynn and Boggs, iirc.

My favorite box would have to be 1989 Upper Deck. When I was about 10 years old I bought my first box and wanted one that was cheap. I bought the box and when I got it ripped each pack slowly so I could read about the players. Well in one of the last five packs I pulled the Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card. Even though it isn’t worth that much, I still treasure it today.

1990 Topps Baseball My grandmother and grandfather were true collector’s of everything and when I was a kid we heard about the legendary card back then the Frank Thomas Misprint Card. We would look high and low buying box after box pack after pack. She would help me organize them and help me out with card’s that were good and one’s that were common. My grandfather would buy me a beckett and we would sit there for hours just looking at the price’s. But we could never come across the Frank Thomas Misprint card we always wanted. Now me and my daughter collect card’s and she is even more excited about them and she looks through them at least 3 times a week organizing them by team or brand or player. It all started with 1 card for us and 1 box the 1990 topps Frank Thomas Misprint and now my daughter has the fever and the bug to someday get that card.

My favorite box that I opened was 1996 Topps Series 1. This box had the first Mantle cards that I ever owned (even if they were reprints). It was just exciting to get such an legendary player at that time before the retro card craze spread like wildfire. I also enjoyed that there weren’t Topps Gold cards inserted one per pack anymore. I was a set collector through and through.

My best box was the 1998 Bowman Hobby Box by the time I finished opening the packs and sorting through the cards I realized the box had every card in the set. I thought that was cool the whole set in one box.

My favorite baseball card box of all time is the 1989 Topps box. I picked up a couple of packs from a major chain supermarket and I got back into collecting after a five year hiatus from collecting.

2008 UD Goudey has been my favorite to open. Before that, I was mostly a singles collector, but the SPs got me really interested in set building. If only there weren’t the presidential cards, it’d be a near-perfect set.

My favorite box or should i say tin of baseball cards is 2007 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Signatures, for one I like the price, i like the design of the cards and i like what comes in them the type of cards like the bat barrels the gloves etc. But the main reason was the night my baby son was born i broke a tin of this and i got all brewers cards and im the biggest brewers fan you’ll ever meet, so now i always call my son the brew crew kid. Thanks dave and adams i hope you liked my story.

1987 Topps. I liked the design, the “inserts”, and this was where it all started for me. Seeing them now takes me back to an innocent time, when collecting was ALL about the fun, and the value of cards didn’t matter.

The best box I have opened I would say was the first box of 2009 Upper Deck SPX baseball I opened this year. I pulled the David Price auto numbered to 99 and the Koji Uehara rookie redemption card, which I recieved with his japanese signature. What a great box.

2007-2008 Upper Deck Masterpieces. They are amazing cards. I was able to make a complete base set of the ‘07 Masterpieces baseball after breaking only two boxes plus I got a few autos, framed parallels and game used cards too. Now I am getting into the NFL Masterpieces after watching your box break video! Thanks!

My favorite box of baseball cards is 2006 Fleer Greats of the Game because you can pull recently retired all stars like Ripken to the greats of the game like Babe Ruth. You can buy a box and pull both autographs and memorabilia of your favorite old timers and Hall of Fame members. Even if you walk into a store and buy a pack, you have a good chance of getting a hit because there are four hits per box and only 15 packs per box. Even if you do not get a hit, the majority of the packs have increased value because all of the cards are from legends! You do not have to pull a random rookie card and wait years to see if its big or not, you get the all-star right then and there! I bought a box and an extra pack or two and found big cards like: Mel Ott bat, Reggie Jackson Jersey, Whitey Ford auto, Ripken Jersey, and many more! In 2006 Fleer GOTG, you get the hits and the fun in each and every pack! 2006 Fleer Greats of The Game has to be the best pack of baseball cards ever made!

Favorite Baseball Box has to be any year of Allen and Ginter. I can’t help but love the classic look of the cards and am also super entertained by the wacky inserts.

1997 Bowman Chrome hands down. Refractors! Chrome cards were so awesome when they first came out. This set was just loaded with top rookies. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed opening a box of cards from any sport more than I did these back in the day.

2007 Ultra SE. I have had some pretty nice pulls out of a $40 box…it is pretty safe and does not leave me feeling like I was kicked in the junk.
I also like 07 A & G, but my best pull from A & G was a Yastrzemski Auto SP out of a retail pack.

1980 was the year of the Phillies. While a senior in high school, I worked for a friend who owned an independent grocery store. He would let me order boxes of cards at cost. While the design, color, etc., is nothing special, 1980 Topps has special meaning to me. Go Phils!

I’m personally a fan of Topps Allen & Ginter, specifically 2008. The product incorporates the greatest players in baseball with a great selection of world-champion athletes and historical figures. I can honestly say that this is one of the sets that i take good care of the base cards. Combining all this with a great relic and autograph set, and you get a fantastic product. To top it off, on my first box i pulled a bigfoot 4×4 boxtopper autograph.

The 1987 Topps I wanted the Roberto Clemente from turn back the clock card so bad. He was my hero and till this day I still get goose bumps when I feel this card in my hands, It is my Prized card I know its not worth much to many but the pride I see in him and pride I feel for what he did for base ball is priceless and that is something that means so much to me not the value.

1986 Topps baseball
Just because its older than me and it was given to me by my grandpa for my bday. Ever since ive been caring for it, when ive moved 5 times and my mom almost threw em away in the third cus they made too much space, i had to throw away some video games that were good just to keep my cards..
