I have been collecting baseball cards my whole life, but I recently purchased a box of 09 Certified Football from your website because I read your reviews and it seemed like it would be a fun mix of veteran players and rookie prospects

Well I just wanted to share with you my biggest hit to date…after pulling a Tom Brady Jersey #’d /24, I thought I was done with the box, until 3 packs later when I pulled a Brett Favre Mirror Gold auto #’d /10! (scan attached)

I know its not the greatest pull in the world, but one sold for $400 last week and people have been going insane for his first Vikings auto so I thought I’d share it with you…thanks so much, you guys are the best!

Check out the latest video from Upper Deck’s “Packs to the People” series. This video features some sharp looking cards from 2009 Upper Deck Black Football, which is scheduled to release 11/24/09.

Upper Deck announced that its 2010 Baseball Card Products will feature randomly inserted Exquisite Baseball Cards.

Here is what Jason Masherah, UD’s director of Sports Brands had to say:

The Exquisite card sets are the reason why people collect in the first place and anyone who sees the cards are drawn to them. We are thrilled to be able to bring this high-end brand of cards to every level of collector purchasing Upper Deck 2010 baseball products in the hobby. These are the kind of cards that have collectors’ hands trembling when they are pulled, and that’s a lot of fun to see and the type of experience that only Upper Deck can provide.”

Here is how Exquisite Baseball will break down in 2010 Upper Deck Baseball Card Releases:

• A 100-card base set limited to just 75 total copies featuring retired diamond legends as well as the top players in the game today.

• “Exquisite Rookie Signature” set of 20 cards, all signed on-card.

• Baseball’s debut of the “Exquisite Autograph Patch Rookie” cards featuring a massive 1.5” x 1.5” patch swatch. These 6 cards will have a print run of just 99 copies.

• The “Legendary Numbers” and “Legendary Initials” inserts will  include up to as many as six swatches of memorabilia from the greatest legends of all-time. Upper Deck will have hard-signed signature or cut signature variations of these sets as well to add more value and chase.

• The “Exquisite Rare Materials” insert will feature tags and logo patches from game-used memorabilia from all the top rookies and stars. The “Endorsement Signature” set will keep autograph hounds happy as these cards will include up to four hard-signed signatures on one card.

• One of the most anticipated inserts in the set is called “UD Champions” and it boasts on-card signature cards and signature patch cards of Upper Deck’s elite spokesmen like Derek Jeter, Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky. There will be single, double and triple versions of these cards available.

The first shot at Exquisite Baseball Cards will come in Upper Deck Series 1 arrives in late February which includes the base cards.  2010 SPx Baseball will  feature patch cards. The autographs will arrive in April with 2010 SP Authentic Baseball.

1.) 2009 Leaf Certified Football

Certified is loaded with 4 game used memorabilia or autograph cards per box. With the 2009 season in full swing, many rookies are having solid seasons, and many are emerging on a week to week basis. Certified is a great box of football cards for collectors looking to chase the top 2009 rookies and get some nice hits. This product also contains Brett Favre’s first autograph card as a member of the Minnesota Vikings.

2.) 2009 Upper Deck SP Authentic Baseball

09 SP Authentic Baseball delivers 3 autographs per box including 2 by the letter signed patch cards. SP Authentic Baseball also contains the autographed Future Watch rookie card of #1 rated prospect Matt Wieters. Another highlight of the product is the chance at getting a 1993 UD SP Derek Jeter Rookie Card Buyback Autograph. SPx has a hit per pack, making that 10 autographed or memorabilia cards per box. The new twist this year is the Shadowbox card, which also comes with autographed variations like the Peyton Manning featured below. 5.) 2009/10 Upper Deck O-Pee-Chee Hockey

Have you heard of the Baseball Card Clubhouse?

Major League Baseball Players teamed up with Upper Deck, Topps, and Ultra Pro to offer a great program to Cub Scouts around the country. Scout groups can go into local participating hobby shops and participate in one of the Baseball Card Clubhouse events. During the event the troops learn about baseball cards and are given a nice Ultra Pro binder, 2 Packs of Baseball Cards (1 Topps, 1 Upper Deck), and a pretty cool badge for their uniforms. It is a great program to educate young people about the history as well as current information on baseball cards, and give them something to start their collection.

We recently held an event at one of our Buffalo area hobby stores and the scouts had a blast! Below is a slideshow showing a couple pictures of different scout groups we have had, as well as the kits they receive.
